Cirrus Tire Pressure Height Checker

Low tire pressure can contribute to having a flat and other issues, so I’ve developed a (free) 3D printed Cirrus Tire Pressure Height Checker to share with the community. When tires are properly inflated, my wheel pants sit right above this all-in-one device which works for both the main and nose wheel pants by rotating the device.
While you should always follow POH guidance with an accurate dial gauge, this is intended as a quick spot-check as an on-the-go visual aid between regular formal checks. This device is NOT a substitute for measuring actual tire pressure. No claims are made regarding the accuracy or suitability for such a task. If you decide to print and utilize it for any purpose, it is at your own risk.
The STL print file should be modified from the default values before printing to align with measurements for your particular airplane as there are variances between generations and individual aircraft. My default values are 76mm for the mains and 60mm for the nose wheel, this puts them 1mm below the lip when the tires are properly inflated. Slicers allow for easy adjustment. I printed flat (no supports) using PLA filament, 15% infill with 2 walls since it doesn’t need much strength.
Note, there can be variances with tire wear, temperature, fuel load and other factors which can affect the lip height, so be sure to account for these items when determining the appropriate size of the print.
The STL file is available (free) at https://www.bradleypierce.com/Cirrus-Tire-Height-Checker-All-In-One.stl – which is provided on the condition that this is a no-cost conceptual design only to be utilized as you see fit at your own free will. This device does not guarantee proper tire inflation pressure nor does it eliminate the potential for flat tires to occur and you agree there is no liability for such an event. Always follow the POH guidance as this is NOT a substitute for legal compliance. To re-iterate clearly, print and/or use at your own risk.
